Be aware of spam projects
I've been seeing these 2 projects cloned over and over again, not only in Devpost but other hackathon platforms. The same exact project, they just republish the contracts in a new chain. Extremely lazy and harmful to the community. No clear demonstration of work made during the hackathon period.

both SyntheX and zexe (both by the same team also) have been previously submitted to the tron hackathon and stuff
https://devpost.com/software/synthex-a7vwrb
https://devpost.com/software/zexe-zanq70
See previous submissions here: https://devpost.com/software/zexe https://devpost.com/software/synthex
EDIT: Due to overlap of NEAR and TRON hackathon - this is likely fine.

Thank you all for your in-depth review of the project gallery! Please note that being in multiple hackathons is allowed as long as the project is eligible for those hackathons (for example: built within the hackathon period). I have just finished reviewing all those mentioned and left notes for the judges where applicable.
Best of luck!

Submitting the same project to multiple hackathons do not invade the general rules of Devpost, each hackathon has its specific rules, and NEAR MetaBUILD doesn’t ban this. Check out another hackathon platform like: DoraHack. You can see almost every submission applies to more than only one hackathon and even the setting of Dora Hack allows builders to do that.
Like you said, so what you call Web2 to Web3 track? They not only “spammed” projects to multiple hackathons in the past, but also “spammed” to seed rounds, private rounds, IDOs, and so on. LOL
You can not call them as “Extremely lazy and harmful to the community”. So as small builders, they submit the project to a hackathon, then they fail, so they must not submit to any other hackathons, programs and they must abandon their projects? Even if they won a hackathon but did not receive enough support to scale up, they could not move to other better environments? Hackathons support talents, and the hosts do not take ownership of the submission, the builders have full rights to choose what they do for their projects.
What a bad move. To win this hackathons, try to improve your project instead of making others look bad. As you said, i hope you wont spam your project(https://devpost.com/software/indices-finance) to other hackathons if you fail Near MetaBUILD.

I think no body has an issue with projects sent to multiple hackathons, that's ok.
The issue here are projects sent to different hackathons that fail to justify the new work made DURING the time of this hackathon.
As per the rules of this hackathon, the native track requieres contestants to develop the idea per this hackathon. Changing only the name and republishing the contracts to Aurora of an old project is considered lazy in my humble opinion and harmful for the community of people that acttually took time to come up with something original.

Yeah, you are right. Sorry for the misunderstanding

I have no problem with those submitted to other hackathons - and as Maria made it clear, chances are the ones submitted to TRON hackathon are fine due to the overlap in the duration. I have a problem with the ones which were done weeks/months before this hackathon had started which is not fair.
As for indices, it's specifically designed for Near L1 - if it fails to win anything, it fails - that's how life is with hackathons.

I found some project that are straight re-submission from another hackathon, clearly there is not time overlap between those two hackathons:
**OnlyFunds**
- Metabuild: https://devpost.com/software/onlyfunds
- https://devpost.com/software/nearinitiator
** WeHave **
- https://devpost.com/software/wehave
** Energy Attribute Certificates Bank. **
- Metabuild: https://devpost.com/software/near-energy-certificates
- https://devpost.com/software/lightency
** SEED Web3 Career Hub **
- metabuild: https://devpost.com/software/seed-web3-career-hub-dhrazk
- https://devpost.com/software/seed-web3-career-hub
Basically a lot of projects re-submit themself from the this hackthon: https://nearcon-irl-hackathon.devpost.com/project-gallery. They either changed their names or re-record a video. Please take a look.

Hey Max, according to the rules, MetaBUILD Native track is open for the projects started at previous NEAR hackathons – including previous MetaBUILD and NEARCON IRL Hackathon. Same rule will be in place for our next hacks.
